Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale is born in a wealthy British family. Later on Nightingale graduated from St Thomas' Hospital, London. The Nightingale Pledge was took by new nurses was named after Nightingale's honor. 1854 October 21, Nightingale was send (under the authorization of Sidney Herbert) to Turkey among other 38 women volunteer nurses which were trained by Nightingale and her aunt Mai Smith. After a couple of months the death rate did not fall, instead it increases. The death rate increases is not Nightingale's fault, it is because of th e supplies. In Turkey there was a serious lack of medical supplies, equipments, and food. Most of the soldiers died of hunger or disease instead of battle wounds. In the battlefield Nightingale gained the named of “The Lady with the Lamp”.

Nightingale is well known for her kindness toward other patients. In the late midnight Nightingale will send pills, pain killers, and comfort to wounded soldiers. However she does her chores roughly. She would stuff the thermometer roughly into a wounded soldier, pump hardy on the cuff that the patient would thought that their arms would fall off, and threw their arms back to the back not caring were it would land.
